2+ ratings for any show is actually really good, it's very rare that a show that isn't mainstream "must-see tv" on a major network in primetime gets higher than a 3 or 4. For example, Battlestar Galactica rated on average like a 1.3 - 1.8. 1.0 works out to (very roughly!) a million people, and a million people watching your show (especially in the right demographic for advertisers) is pretty good.
Stuff like Monday Night Football rates like a 8 - 12 I think depending on the game, and the really, really big games jump up far higher.
Ratings are REALLY weird, but one thing for certain is that shifting the schedule of a program and seeing its ratings HALVED is a sign that shifting the schedule wasn't a good idea!
Ah, so looking back at the ratings, it would mean roughly a million viewers tuned out after the schedule change.
That's more of a significant drop than I had thought. Damn, somebody screwed up.
