Because it's like crack. You click on one page, and then four hours later you realise you have ten different tabs open and the cat hasn't been fed.

Yeah, pretty much this.  You're taken to one page and then you see a name an go "hmmm I wonder what that means"  or "hmmm I wonder what series falls under that"  and since the pages are so long you can get stuck in that place for hours.  Same thing happens to me with Wikipedia and Encyclopedia Dramatica.

I guess I'm immune or an old man or something, they just leave me bored and I can't get through more than a paragraph before the whole "joke" has been run into the ground.

Well I get a sense of comraderie with it when reading about series or movies I've seen and getting to see other's opinions on them.  This is mostly for the positive or funny tropes though.  It's sort of the feeling you get when watching something with other fans and its a good feeling.  Though for some negative tropes I end up writing in how a given series or character does not actually fit the trope, while I try to be careful not to turn the wiki page into a debate.

Sometimes reading them can also be a good way to learn about series you haven't seen because you didn't realize they had things you liked in them, or simply never heard of them.

And its good to know I'm not the only one who ends up trapped on the site with ten tabs open and having what was supposed to be a ten minute peak into a hours long investigation. Cry

Episode 269 - Tie One On! (Master Quest):  Right at the end of the episode, after the battle team rocket are shown to be very sucessful with their 'badges' merchandise... But what I'm surprised Tim didn't mention is what they say... in particular Jessie:

Meowth:  All right! We're selling out of these 'badges'!
(James: Yes Yes!)
Jessie: Taking cady from a baby!
James: That happens when a true arteest is involved in the creation, I have a flair for knowing what the collector wants!
Jessie: Then keep it up, Vincent van BLOWHARD and we'll sell even more!
All: We'll be RICH!!
Wobbaffet: Wobbaffet!

Thats gotta count for something, right?  Lips Sealed

In a lot of cases, really long stretches of pun-filled dialogue won't get included because it's just too exhaustive and if I was doing it all, I might as well just be writing a script.

Fair enough - mind you this is in no way an attack on you or your episode guides, I'm just mearly exploring the things that I didn't find in them.

No no, it's absolutely fine, I'm just pointing out that in some cases, it's a deliberate choice NOT to include something.  Alternatively, there may be things bought up that I entirely missed (for example, the hilarious bit in Pokemon Fashion Flash where James cross-dresses is, I think, a quite overt parody of another anime and I'd never have known that myself if somebody hadn't pointed it out) which I'd love to hear about.

One of the odder things I noticed in one of the more recent episodes(though I couldn't say which one) was that device that measured "love". Some of you probably remember it, it found that Dawn and Piplup were OK with one another, but that Croagunk really loved Brock.
See, it was just the very existence of the device that I found fascinating. The idea that love could be identified and measured by a mere electrical device was something that you wouldn't really notice at first, but the more you think about it, the more dodgy it is.
