What I mean is that I'm worried about the designs of the Pokemon... if they started having absurdly bright colors and lots of antenae and spikes and wings and claws and massive appendeges and horns. Like, if they started getting REALLY unbelievable. In my opinion the most well-designed Pokemon are the ones you can trace back to real animals.

I sort of gathered that it was a scoop or claw or something, but I guess it does resemble a ponytail.

If it is a Mightyena evolution it might be based on a Werewolf.

(Or a Werehyena with wolf traits as Mightyena is a hyena with wolf traits.)

Wouldn't that be kind of cliched? Granted, Pokemon doesn't really have anything based a werewolf yet, but still... you see werewolf counterparts in loads of other franchises as it is. Not to question the developers' creativity or anything...

Actually, I'm starting to question whether this guy really is Z. There's this quote from the article, for instance:

Some sites have reported that this mysterious Pokémon is Z itself, but as of now this is purely speculation, apparently based on an announcement earlier in the program that Z would be revealed in that same program on Feb. 21. (Yeah, I know... I'm such a Bulbapedia whore.)

and it really looks too complicated to be a shapeshifter. I mean, look at Ditto. Not to mention if it is Z, then it's most likely not going to be an evolution of something, so that rules out any of the possibilities we suggested here, which is kind of disappointing.

If this is Z and if it's real I'm glad they showed it's pre-evolved form at the same time. Because then there won't be those "Legendary or not" arguments that Lucario got way before Rilou was revealed. Poor Lucario and Rilou, they were the victims of the fandom's craziness.
